BENEFIZ-MATINEE zugunsten von CONCORDIA
Conductor: Asher FischViolin: Sergej Krylov
Orchestra and Chorus of the Tiroler Festspiele Erl
As is tradition, the 2027 Easter Music Week kicks off with a charity matinee in support of CONCORDIA social projects on Palm Sunday. The program centers on a work by Alban Berg, to whom the Tyrolean Festival Erl will be devoting special attention in the coming seasons. His Violin Concerto, subtitled “In Memory of an Angel,” is one of the most moving compositions of the
20th century. Although associated with the New Viennese School, it combines a modern musical language with a deeply felt, almost romantic expressiveness. Berg dedicated the work to Manon Gropius, who died tragically young, thereby creating a musical memorial of great emotional intensity.
The program is rounded out by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Requiem, a work of timeless significance that—at the audience’s repeated request—is finally being performed again at the Tyrolean Festival Erl.
