Schubert, red wine, and 130 seats on stage

Founded in Berlin in 2019, the Leonkoro Quartet has long been at home on Europe’s major concert stages. At the Ausklang Fall Festival, this exceptional young ensemble can now also be seen at the Festspielhaus Erl—not only as part of the main program, but also in an exclusive concert setting: a late-night concert in a completely new venue that complements the Ausklang program.

Limited to 130 tickets, you'll be sitting right up close to the quartet. And, just this once, you’re allowed to bring a glass of red wine to your seat: A select wine is already included in the ticket for this special evening.

The program features one of Franz Schubert's most heartfelt works. The String Quartet No. 13 in A minor, D 804, “Rosamunde” It belongs to that moment when Schubert reimagined the string quartet: no longer as an elegant conversation among four instruments, but as a space of the utmost personal intensity. Beauty and melancholy, intimacy and the abyss are sometimes separated by only a few measures here. In the slow movement, Schubert recalls his own music from *Rosamunde*; it is a melody as if from another world, a memory that returns, transforms itself, and then tells a completely new story.
