Rückert-Lieder

Helmut Deutsch Klavier

Helmut Deutsch is one of the most sought-after and successful song accompanists in the world. Born in Vienna, he studied in his hometown and became a professor at the age of 24. Already during his studies, his main interest focused on song. In addition, he performed as a chamber musician for several decades with world-class instrumentalists. His international career as a song accompanist began with soprano Irmgard Seefried. For twelve years, he was the permanent song partner of Hermann Prey. Subsequently, he worked with the most important song singers and performed in all the major music centers of the world. Today, Jonas Kaufmann, Diana Damrau, Michael Volle and Mauro Peter are among his primary song partners. His work is documented on more than a hundred recordings. One of his central concerns is the revival of unjustly forgotten composers, a second is the training and promotion of young talents.
