The Winter Season of the Tiroler Festspiele Erl 2023/24 Ends with Acclaimed Final Concert

This year, chief conductor Erik Nielsen conducted the traditional closing matinee of the winter season of the Tiroler Festspiele Erl. The program with works by Prokofiev, Mahler and Dvořák was acclaimed by the audience in the sold-out Festspielhaus. The festival can draw a positive balance with several sold-out concerts and an overall capacity utilization of over 80%. Changes in the Summer Festival 2022 Schedule

The Tiroler Festspiele Erl regret the cancellation of the premiere of Rossini's opera "Bianca e Falliero", which had to be cancelled due to an illness in the ensemble. Cancellation of the Summer Festival 2020

The Corona crisis is now affecting all areas of life and presents people and companies, including cultural institutions, with major challenges. Due to the necessary official requirements to contain the pandemic, we have already cancelled the "Piano Days" from April 2-5, 2020. The weeks that followed were marked by coordination with numerous authorities at the state and federal level, with funding bodies, political representatives and of course also our staff, artists and participants in all areas, to obtain clarity about possible consequences for the festival and the planned programs.

Cancellation of the Piano Days

Due to the current spread situation of the coronavirus (COVID-19), we have decided to cancel this year's Piano Days from April 2-5, 2020. After extensive consideration of the risks for visitors, musicians, staff and the entire region, we see ourselves forced to take this step to best prevent any spread of the virus in our region. The internationality of our orchestra as well as the potential overlap of our target group with the increased risk groups played an important role in this decision.

The Artist Behind the Motifs: Melanie Siegel

In the meeting of the foundation board of Tiroler Festspiele Erl on January 2, 2020, the renewed establishment of a supervisory board was decided. In addition to board member Hans Peter Haselsteiner, former Federal Minister Maria Fekter, Head of Music Department BKA Brigitte Winkler-Komar, from the legal department of the State of Tyrol Ms. Barbara Rizzoli-Ellenhuber and the cultural worker Waltraud Orthner are sent to the supervisory board of Tiroler Festspiele Erl.

Presentation of the Summer Festival 2020

With a press conference in the presence of State Councilor Dr. Beate Palfrader, Dr. Hans Peter Haselsteiner and the new artistic director Bernd Loebe, who took office in September 2019, the program for the Summer Festival 2020 was presented. Also in the coming year, Erl offers the usual broad-ranging program and can certainly meet the audience's expectations with three operas – a Wagner opera will also not be missing – as well as concerts and selected chamber music.

In the final concert of this year's Thanksgiving Days next Sunday, October 6 at 11:00 AM, Munich soprano Anna Gabler will sing the role of the "Countess" from Richard Strauss' opera "Capriccio" alongside the 4 orchestral songs by Joseph Marx, among others. We met her before the rehearsals - and directly received her free tickets for a raffle.
