After the many canceled events and concerts of the last months, this cultural round is an important sign for the cultural creators and for the visitors themselves, explains the Commercial Managing Director of the Tiroler Festspiele Erl, Natascha Müllauer. "As bitter as it was for us to have to cancel our own summer festival in July due to corona, I am all the more pleased that we can now be hosts for this cultural round in August," she says. The Managing Director of TVB Kufsteinerland, Stefan Pühringer, sees it the same way: "Culture is one of the most important pillars of our region, which is also reflected in the accommodation figures. Therefore, it is all the more gratifying that a way was found to make culture experienceable again. I would like to thank you warmly for the initiative and implementation of this cultural round!"
For the opening on Saturday, August 8, under the honorary patronage of Governor Günter Platter, the "Bologna Chamber Orchestra" will perform with numerous musicians from the Tiroler Festspiele Erl Orchestra and a palette of string concertos from Samuel Barber to P. I. Tchaikovsky.
A well-known figure invites to the matinee the very next day, Sunday, August 9. Together with Nikolaus Habjan, Franui will perform on their well-known stage with a characteristically familiar program and texts by Robert Walser and Jürg Amann as well as music after Schubert, Mahler, Brahms and others.
From Thursday, August 13 to Sunday, August 16, another artist well known to the festival audience follows, Julia Malischnig. With the already second \"La Guitarra Erl\" Festival, numerous greats of the Austrian guitar world will focus on one of the most popular instruments. A program with vocals, other instrument groups and a repertoire that will certainly attract many visitors to the Festspielhaus again.
A very special event awaits visitors on Saturday, August 22: The Flying Volksbühne from Frankfurt with \"Im weißen Rössl à trois\". In the singspiel in three acts, a full-bodied comedy is served that has everything that makes \"Das Weiße Rössl\": \"...heart-rending love agony and squeaking love happiness, winking Alpine kitsch and genuine sentimentality\".
There's also plenty of young, excellent folk music to hear in Erl in August. On Sunday, August 23, for example, participant groups of the Alpine Folk Music Competition will perform. "The Tiroler Festspiele Erl occupy a special position in the country both artistically and geographically. The Inn Valley has always been a place where authentic folk music is cultivated and upheld. All the more pleased is the Tyrolean Folk Music Association to be able to make the Festspielhaus ring with the finest folk music in the August round." explains Peter Margreiter, Chairman of the Tyrolean Folk Music Association. And that will also be the case on Friday, August 28, when Herma Haselsteiner and her work will be the focus of the evening.
On Saturday, August 29 and Sunday, August 30, the musical educational institutions of the State of Tyrol are guests with another appealing program. With Sara De Blue, Jack Marsina & Flo's Jazz Casino, 6 outstanding musical personalities could be engaged for the "1st Jazz Night Erl" on August 29.
On Sunday, it's "stage free" for wonderful Tyrolean talents who are trained at the Tyrolean Music Schools, the Tyrolean State Conservatory and the Mozarteum University Salzburg. Under the title "PRIMA LA MUSICA", listeners can expect a select program of solo and chamber music performances with free admission. For the State Music School Director Helmut Schmid, it is "... a great joy and for the young artists a special honor to be able to prove their skills in the Festspielhaus in Erl once again (Prima la Musica was already a guest in Erl in 2014)."
Tickets for all events are available through the website of the Tiroler Festspiele Erl (https://www.tiroler-festspiele.at/spielplan) and through the Kufsteinerland Tourism Association (https://www.kufstein.com).
