Presentation of the Winter Festival 2020/2021 at the Festspielhaus Erl!
Today, Thursday, July 9, 2020, the Erl Summer Festival should actually have opened. Corona put a damper on the plans. And so on this day, President Dr. Hans Peter Haselsteiner and Artistic Director Bernd Loebe presented both the Winter Festival 2020/21 and the Thanksgiving Weekend from October 2-4, 2020 at a press conference.

Reference was also made to the cultural round in August. Thanks to the generously designed seating and rows in the concert hall, it is possible to play this with a "checkerboard pattern" without any problems. Offering guests the greatest possible safety has the highest priority for the Tiroler Festspiele Erl, as Dr. Haselsteiner emphasized.

Thanksgiving in Erl is heralded with a program for children: Under the title "Tuba-li, Tuba-la", questions about tuba playing are answered. On the following days, selected works by Mozart, Beethoven and Lutoslawski will be performed.

The winter program traditionally begins with the Christmas Oratorio. Tickets for this concert, as well as for the concerts on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, are typically sold out quickly. Therefore, the dress rehearsal of the Christmas Oratorio is made public the day before, and there are also two performances on New Year's Eve and New Year''s Day to fulfill all possible ticket requests. According to Bernd Loebe, the two operas follow the pattern 'one masterpiece, one rarity', which should be maintained in the future. This winter, these are Donizetti''s 'Don Pasquale' and Mascagni's 'L'amico Fritz'. As far as the singers are concerned, Bernd Loebe wants to create an ensemble feeling by continuously engaging the same artists. He wants 'no soulless appearance, the audience should recognize the singers again and look forward to them'. Franui remains indispensable for him, as do the concerts for families and children. Despite all uncertainties and fears about what might still happen, he is already planning the Ring with the production by Brigitte Fassbaender, starting with the upcoming summer festival 2021.

At the end, there was still a tour: The Festspielhaus was expanded with an imposing new building that fits perfectly to the building. Extensive technical and structural changes - including a new backstage and a new workshop - were carried out. The box office of the Tiroler Festspiele Erl will also move there from August 3. In this context, it is pointed out that tickets can initially only be ordered by phone or by mail.
