Thanks are due to the Friends of the Tiroler Festspiele Erl, who made this seminar from April 19 to 22 possible free of charge for the young instrumental soloists with the Academy of Friends of the Tiroler Festspiele Erl. From 200 young musicians who had applied with a video for a place, 24 participants from 12 nations were selected.
The careful assessment was carried out by renowned lecturers who can demonstrate many years of experience as professional musicians: From the Munich Philharmonic, Michael Kofler (flute), Matias Piñeira (horn) and Benjamin Appel (trombone) taught, Karin Mischl from the Orchestra of the Tiroler Festspiele Erl passes on her knowledge on the clarinet, and Erich Rinner from the Tyrolean State Conservatory was responsible for the trumpet. They all passed on their expertise and know-how with great empathy to their future colleagues and thus created an important platform where young talents could consolidate and expand their skills. After exciting four days, in which the participants had to perform demanding pieces of orchestral and chamber music both invisibly for the jury behind the closed curtain and on stage in the spotlight, the best of this course, which is also supported by the State of Tyrol, are now determined. They were determined after thorough expertise by a specialist jury consisting of Dr. Thomas Lanner (Vice President of the Friends of the Tiroler Festspiele Erl), Helmut Schmid (State of Tyrol, Jury Spokesperson), Beomseok Yi (Kapellmeister of the Tiroler Festspiele Erl), Dr. Sabine Busch-Frank (Cultural Journalist) and Amina Anna Vámosi (Flutist).
These instrumentalists could rejoice over their winner certificate:
(from left to right)
Itay Shamir from Israel (flute)
Héctor Mora Cano from Spain (trombone)
Simon Oberthanner from Austria (trumpet)
Seong Jin Han from South Korea (horn)
Chiemi Se from Japan (clarinet)
The good news for all participants of the Academy is that they earn ECTS credit points for their further studies – a point system that was introduced at European universities to structure the recognition of academic achievements at home and abroad. Thus, the Academy of Friends of the Tiroler Festspiele Erl makes a valuable contribution to the education and promotion of young musicians.
