That Was the Strings Academy 2023
From April 11 to 14, numerous young artists gathered again in Erl. After four days of intensive coaching, led by high-caliber lecturers, this year's winners are now determined.

For the Academy of Friends of the Tiroler Festspiele Erl, musical talent promotion has always been not only an important component, but also a matter of the heart. This year, the focus was on the string instruments of a symphony orchestra: violins, violas, cellos, double basses and harp. 150 applications from ten countries were received. A specialist jury selected 25 highly gifted participants who enjoyed three days of continuing education with renowned lecturers. The costs for this tuition-free seminar are borne by the Academy of Friends of the Tiroler Festspiele Erl, supported both by the State of Tyrol and the Tiroler Festspiele Erl.

For the crowning finale, the young soloists – all between 20 and 25 years old – had an audition under conditions identical to a real application on the program. The best in their register were chosen after competent assessment by the specialist jury. They will delight the audience on July 25, 2023 on the stage of the Festspielhaus with their skills.
