The 2024 Summer Festival is Open!
Festival President Hans Peter Haselsteiner and Governor Anton Mattle ceremoniously opened the Tiroler Sommerfestspiele 2024. The opening concert in the sold-out Festspielhaus marked the starting signal for three and a half weeks of cultural enjoyment and promised a musical experience of the highest class.

The Orchestra of the Tiroler Festspiele Erl, conducted by Julia Jones, performed together with the Choir of the Tiroler Festspiele and presented an impressive program - The audience could look forward to the following musical performances: Samuel Barber's Adagio from String Quartet op. 11, Jean Sibelius' symphonic poem "Finlandia" op. 26, selected songs from Gustav Mahler's "Des Knaben Wunderhorn" and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy's "Die erste Walpurgisnacht" op. 60. Mikołaj Trąbka (baritone), Hanna Larissa Naujoks (mezzo-soprano), Brian Michael Moore (tenor) and Manuel Walser (baritone/bass) underpinned the "first Walpurgis night" with their strong voices.

With this multifaceted program, the musicians delighted our guests and set an impressive start for the coming weeks full of musical highlights. Already on July 5, the first Ring cycle by Richard Wagner will begin with the performance of "Rheingold". On July 6, the Choir of the Tiroler Festspiele will give an open-air concert in the city center of Kufstein. The eagerly awaited premiere of Tchaikovsky's "Mazeppa" follows on July 12, and on July 16 the family concert "Das Light Motiv" will take to the stage.
