In the second concert performance of Vincenzo Bellini's opera "I puritani", a different singer will be experienced in the role of Elvira than planned – and once again one of the most sought-after sopranos could be won as a replacement. After the stormily acclaimed performance of December 28, 2024, which had been led to triumph by Jessica Pratt, the audience can now expect the star soprano Lisette Oropesa in the role of Elvira on January 4, 2025. The Tiroler Festspiele Erl regret that Zuzana Marková cannot sing the second performance either due to illness and wish her a speedy recovery.
The lyrical coloratura soprano Lisette Oropesa is one of the most sought-after artists and regularly performs on the leading opera stages of the world, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Vienna State Opera and the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London. Known for her flawless legato, solid technique and impressive language skills, she shines in a diverse repertoire that includes bel canto, Mozart, Handel and French composers. In 2024, she was named Singer of the Year by the International Opera Awards.
Lisette Oropesa's portrayals of Violetta ("La Traviata") have delighted audiences worldwide. Other outstanding roles include the title role in "Lucia di Lammermoor" among others in Madrid, London, Milan, Zurich, Vienna and Salzburg, as well as Gilda ("Rigoletto") and Konstanze ("Die Entführung aus dem Serail") among others in Paris, Vienna and Munich. In the current season, she appears on stage among others in "La Traviata" in Vienna and "Manon" in Valencia. She will also debut in Donizetti's "Maria Stuarda" in Madrid and as Marguerite (Gounod's "Faust") in London. In "I puritani" she can be experienced in Paris, in "Alcina" in Versailles and "I masnadieri" in Munich. In 2025, she will return to the Salzburg Festival in the title role of "Maria Stuarda". The soprano also appears worldwide as a versatile concert and song interpreter.
Remaining tickets for the second performance of "I puritani" are still available.
