Hans Peter Haselsteiner will remain president of the Tiroler Festspiele Erl for another five years. At its meeting on July 3, 2026, the Advisory Board of the Tiroler Festspiele Erl Nonprofit Private Foundation voted unanimously to extend his term of office until mid-2031. Dr. Haselsteiner has held this position since 2005 and, since 2017, has also served within the framework of the then-newly established private foundation. Furthermore—as is widely known—he is a major patron and one of the financial backers of the Tiroler Festspiele Erl: on the one hand, through the Haselsteiner Family Private Foundation, and on the other, through the long-standing sponsorship of the construction group STRABAG SE, which he founded. Thanks to his support, the Erl Festival Hall, the Artists’ Residence, and the Premiere Hall—along with its parking garage—were able to be built.
Festival Artistic Director Jonas Kaufmann is delighted: “We consider ourselves extraordinarily fortunate to have Hans Peter Haselsteiner—such a dedicated advocate for culture and its impact on society—as president at the helm of the Tiroler Festspiele Erl. The fact that he has taken on the responsibility to continue fulfilling this role ensures continuity and stability, and for that I am very grateful.”
