A true fireworks display is promised by the opening evening on August 10 with TODO TANGO! TODO FLAMENCO! My 10-member ensemble of great musicians and dancers dives deep into the breathtaking world of tango and flamenco with guitars, vocals, accordion, bass, piano, castanets and dance. Together we combine tradition, new and visionary elements into a captivating stage experience.

On August 11, the incomparable Brazilian master of the seven-string guitar YAMANDU COSTA with his TRIO IBEROAMERICANO can be experienced at La Guitarra Erl for the first time. At his side: the Portuguese guitarist Luís Guerreiro on the Guitarra Portuguesa and bandoneonist Martin Sued, one of the most outstanding Argentine instrumentalists. Chôro rhythms from the musical heart of Brazil, the passion of tango and the melancholy of fado promise an evening of special intensity and rhythm.

Not to be missed is the impulse concert LA GUITARRA NEXT GENERATION IN CONCERT on August 12 in the foyer of the Festspielhaus, in which our young guitar talents present the results of the guitar workshops with the Mexican guitarist Cecilio Perera and me. Spectacular, extraordinary and cosmopolitan is the final highlight of La Guitarra Erl that follows. DUPLESSY & THE VIOLINS OF THE WORLD, the sensational quartet from France, China and Mongolia impresses with guitar, Chinese tube lute, Scandinavian key harp, Mongolian horse-head fiddle as well as overtone and undertone singing and surprises with fascinating sound worlds from the realm of the Mongolian steppe and the Himalayas to the Scandinavian valleys. A celebration for La Guitarra Erl!
