Since autumn 2017, the concerts of Erl's "Thanksgiving" have been a fixed date for music enthusiasts not only in the regional cultural calendar, more and more guests are discovering their love for this charming mini-festival on the first October weekend.
This year, the festival had two special debuts in store: The young Austrian pianist Lukas Sternath played his way virtuously and at the same time sensitively into the hearts of the Erl audience with a sophisticated solo program, the violinist Sophia Jaffé swept the audience to storms of enthusiasm with her interpretation of Ludwig van Beethoven's Violin Concerto. Conductor Elias Grandy could also celebrate a great personal success, who achieved a captivating interpretation of Beethoven's 4th Symphony with the festival orchestra.
At the concluding matinee on October 8, chief conductor Erik Nielsen was at the podium. In great familiarity with the soloists and musicians of the festival orchestra, he shaped an impressive conclusion of "Thanksgiving" with works by Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven. A reunion with Erik Nielsen will take place on January 7, 2024 - don't miss the Final Concert with Dvořák's 9th Symphony!
